I keep hearing people saying "Afghanistan is like Vietnam". So I'm thinking... if that is the case, then where is this 'Vietnam' and should we attack it?

Nah, don't bother. Vietnam is old news, invaded and since discarded long ago. Lots of them (Vietnamese) are over here now, being "one of us, one of us" and cooking up a storm in food malls everywhere.
